FISHING GEARS AND CRAFTS OF THE RIVER HALDA

Sixteen types of nets and four types of traditional and non-mechanized crafts were used for fishing. It was also observed that 3 types of hooks and 4 types of baits were generally used in fishing in the Halda River.

The work had been done by Md. Abdul Mannan for the degree of B. Sc. Honors research project entitled "Fishing Gears and Crafts of the Halda River, Chittagong, Bangladesh" under supervision of Md. Manzoorul Kibria, Assistant Professor, Department of Zoology, University of Chittagong during February to July 2009.
